Hi all,

I've read both FAQ and documentation about how to configure squid and mrtg
work togheter, but I don't understand nothing, I presume...

I'm running squid 2.2.STABLE4-5 on a RedHat 6.0 linux box. I've compiled
squid with --enable-snmp option, then when it starts, in cache.log I see:

[...]
1999/12/20 18:16:00| Accepting HTTP connections on port 3128, FD 32.
1999/12/20 18:16:00| Accepting ICP messages on port 3130, FD 33.
1999/12/20 18:16:00| Accepting SNMP messages on port 3401, FD 34.
1999/12/20 18:16:00| Ready to serve requests.

In squid.conf I've added:

acl urka snmp_community public
snmp_access allow urka localhost
snmp_access deny all !localhost

while I've unaltered the rest. Then I try to run mrtg with the sample conf
file from squid web pages, but I received:

Unknown SNMP var cacheClientHttpRequests
Unknown SNMP var cacheClientHttpRequests
SNMPGET: Failed to reach target:
"cacheClientHttpRequests&cacheClientHttpRequests:public@localhost:3401". I tried multiple times!
Unknown SNMP var cacheCpuUsage
Unknown SNMP var cacheCpuUsage
SNMPGET: Failed to reach target:
"cacheCpuUsage&cacheCpuUsage:public@localhost:3401". I tried multiple times!
[...]

The cfgmaker utility return a:

SNMP Error:
receiving response PDU: Connection refused

Any suggestions?

grazie e buon Natale,

Riccardo
