access.log -> MRTG-type graph

Hi,

Given a month's worth of access.log's, I would like to create a MRTG graph
or something similar.

The MRTG data format is documented, so it's just a matter of computing...
how can you compute the effective bandwidth used at a given time? Do you
measure the total downloads in an interval? What if the download spans
multiple intervals?
