More squid and SOCKS firewall questions

I am trying to set up a squid proxy to run behind a SOCKS firewall.

YThanks to a helpful list reader I have entered what I beleive to be
the correct line in squid.conf to get it to use the firewall as the
        "parent cache". This is:

        cache_peer fw.westvaco.com parent 1080 3130

        Is this correct?

Now I beleive that I have to start squid with runsocks to get it to use
        a SOCKS connection.

Problem is that this makes squid's DNS lookups fail. The machine that I
am runing squid on has access to a DNS server (whch is a different
machine than the firewall) that can resolve outside names. A nslookup
from this machine to outside addresses will work. But when I start
squid with runsocks, it can't make a connection to the nameserever,
beacuse (I think) it's trying to use SOCKS there also.

I tried putting the following line in squid.conf:

        dns_nameservers 170.85.17.10

This address is the firewall, not the DNS machine. But it still fails.

Netscape works just fine. How can I get squid to work?

BTW in looking at the .usr/local/bin.RunCache script I see squid itself
is inovked with some flags, but I cna't find a man page for squid to
        tell me what they mean.
