Central Squid Server (www.senet.com.au/css)

The Central Squid Server is alive and well and in use at SE Net doing many
millions of requests per day (it supports 6 proxy servers for 26k+
clients)

The version of squid we have patches for is Squid/2.2 that gets renamed to
Squid/2.2.STABLE5-CSS after the patches.

The CSS ideally needs a shit load of RAM (the way it has been designed)
and should be a dedicted box if you want any measure of performance. That
being said a PII-300 can yeild a good rate of about 3k ICP packets per
second in stress testing we did once.

Have a look at www.senet.com.au/css and downlaod the latest stuff.

The work is not mine but a former employee who has now gone off to work
for the Telco spooks at TRL! The code is good and solid, works
here at any rate.

The README file with the CSS distribution should help.

Happy peering :-)
