DNS resolution with an antivirus proxy + squid 2.3Stable1

We are running squid with an HTTP antivirus (same host, listening on port
1827) between it and the Internet.
squid.conf includes:
        icp_port 0
        cache_peer localhost parent 1827 0 default
        never_direct allow all

This configuration worked with Squid-2.2Stable4, but when we upgraded to
2.3Stable1, we could not retrieve pages anymore. Errors were:
------
The following error was encountered:
Unable to determine IP address from host name for
www.squid-cache.org
The dnsserver returned:
Name Error: The domain name does not exist.
This means that:
The cache was not able to resolve the hostname presented in the URL.
Check if the address is correct.
------

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
