redirect traffic on gateway failure when using roundrobin_parents

        Dear Friends,

We have two satellite links (one via Geneva and the other
via NY) connected via different subnets. There is a proxy
server on each of the subnets (say proxy-gva and proxy-ny)
configured as proxy-only. There is a central proxy server
(called just proxy :) configured as a caching server to which
all the clients point to via a proxy.pac definition. I have
defined proxy-gva and proxy-ny as roundrobin_parents on proxy.
When both the Geneva and the NY satellite links are up
everything works beautifully and the total traffic is nicely
balanced between the two gateways. However, when there is a
failure of one of the gateways, the clients are receiving
connetion timeoutes for traffic trying to go through the
failed gateway.

Is there a way whereby I can do auto redirection of all
traffic onto the working link whenever there is a failure of
either of the links? TIA

Regards
SK
