I haven't change anything in the squid configuration since I installed it. I have changed some of
my firewall rules in the past couple weeks - messing with ICQ :(

From my squid.conf file (I left the client_lifetime parameter commented out, as it is by default):

# TAG: client_lifetime time-units
# should probably change client_lifetime only as a last resort.
#client_lifetime 1 day
# TAG: shutdown_lifetime time-units
# This value is the lifetime to set for all open descriptors
shutdown_lifetime 30 seconds
