RE: Can't get Squid to use /etc/hosts to resolve hostnames

I upgraded from 2.3 Stable1 to 2.3 Stable2 and now it is working fine. When
I was running 2.3 Stable1, no dnsserver processes were being spawned, even
though Squid passed its initial DNS startup tests. I have no idea why I was
getting this behavior with 2.3 Stable1, but I am very happy that it is
working with 2.3 Stable2.

Have you really done this? (configure --disable-internal-dns ...; make
clean; make install)

Quick check: Is there any dnsserver processes running when you have
started Squid?

Next, verify the spelling.. maybe you have some kind of spelling error
in the requested domain name.

Works fine here in my tests..
