Try:
# rpm -qail | grep libc.so.6

when you have run this command you have to see this output:
/lib/libc.so.6
/usr/i386-glibc20-linux/lib/libc.so
/usr/i386-glibc20-linux/lib/libc.so.6

If you don't, you should try to reinstall glibc-2.1.2-11 package.

I was trying to upgrade my red hat linux box squid version today but had
encountered the ff error:

[root@ /tmp]# rpm -U squid-2_3_STABLE1-5_i386.rpm
failed dependencies:
        libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.0) is needed by squid-2.3.STABLE1-5
        libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.1) is needed by squid-2.3.STABLE1-5
        libm.so.6(GLIBC_2.0) is needed by squid-2.3.STABLE1-5

How do I resolved the error?
