Hi,

Try to install the latest stable version of squid. I had squid installed
from a RH 6.0 CD and it was crashing everyday. I installed the latest stable
version and now it's ok.

Subject: backup of swap.state?

Hi,

as my squid system seems to crash frequently I am searching for a way to
backup the swap.state from the cache directories while squid is running. Is
this possible?

My primitive approach is to
squid -k rotate
<wait 1 minute>
cp /var/spool/cache/swap.state /var/spool/cache/swap.state.backup

Is this file in a sane state after rotating? Or does it change in
unpredictable time?
