Real.com have a Beta proxy.
And there is free source code for a Unix real proxy demon .http://service.real.com/firewall/fdev.html

Its not Unix but you could look at Netcache www.netcache.com.
This merges simultaneous real time streams, so there is only one stream on the internet link.

There was a thread in this mailing list last week - where a guy claimed to have got cgi caching working, with a configurable timeout, using Squid.

A shame, I was hoping to find some sort of way to store a realvideo
stream, a la VCR ;-)
