RAM-only cache possible?

Is it possible to have a RAM-only Squid (v2.3S3) cache?

I really just want to have hot objects kept in RAM and to use redirector
children. Ideally, the only disk I/O Squid would do is writing to
cache.log

So... can it be done? And if so, which config parameters need to be
set
to do it? Since would be no on-disk cache, could I skip the "squid -z"
step in setting up the cache?
