login timeout

dear Henrik,

we have a mail server which runs on Red Hat linux 5.2 . we have a
problem of login time out when connecting to it from outside(Internet).
After getting the login prompt, while typing username, timeout occurs.
Could you please tell me, How can I increase this time out period?
