[SQU] Question re: Performance

Hi Squid Users,

I've searched for info on this issue in the FAQs, but can't find
anything. Hope you can help...

I recently upgraded from Red Hat 6.1 to 6.2 on my home Internet system,
upgrading my Squid from 2.2.STABLE4 (i think) to 2.3.STABLE1, and ever
since i have had very poor performance. If i bypass the cache and go
straight to the Internet, it works normally, but going through my Squid
proxy makes things very slow.

I'm not sure whether it is my ISP's proxy server, or an issue with
Squid. It is not the system - CPU is virtually idle, disks are
responding well, and there are no pageouts. Where can i start looking
to work out where the bottleneck is?

Thanks,
Paul
