Thanks a lot for your reply. My Linux internet gateway server doesn't use
firewalling. I have checked the squid logs but didn't find anything. So I
checked the cache files. I found out its giving me a network error saying
can't connect. Now if I do firewalling with IPchains how do I mention the
chat sites for which there should be direct connection between the web
server and the client, bypassing the cache. And as because there can be any
number of chat sites , how do I mention them in the ipchains rules? What
port does chat sites like yahoo use for the java applets?
