[SQU] Weird problem

Recently my squid server stopped working. I had this
problem twice since I started using Redhat 7.0
After some days of usage I get the following message
when I type the '/etc/rc.d/init.d/squid status'

squid (pid 1229) is running .....
squid: ERROR: no running copy

Please help me understand what this message means and
what I should do. Last time I have reinstalled the
entire OS.
