Where can I get squid 2.5 for testing, it is not mentioned in the
downloadable area on the web site. Is it CVS only?

Subject: [SQU] ANNOUNCE: NTLM merged into squid 2.5 (CVS HEAD BRANCH)

This is an announcement that the NTLM codebase has been merged into the
main squid source tree. Any early adopters should now get the HEAD
revision from the sourceforge or squid-cache cvs servers. A daily
snapshot after 2001-01-08 will also contain the code.

As it is in the development area of squid, it is not suitable for
production use. We are looking at back porting the core NTLM changes to
2.4 as a patch set for early adopters. (The NTLM code itself is quite
stable).

That may be a little while off though.

Getting NTLM:
* discussed above

Compiling:
Configure with --enable-auth=ntlm, or --enable-auth=basic,ntlm. The
default will only compile basic authentication. You will also need
--enable-ntlm-auth-helpers=xxx where xxx is the helper you wish to use
(see the src/auth/helpers directory for a list of helpers).

The squid.conf file format has changed for authentication only. Look in
squid.conf.default for auth_param for documentation.
