Hello,

I am trying to compile the Squid 2.4PRE-STABLE release on a Mac OS X Server
(v1.2v3). I would like to increase the total number of File Descriptors
that Squid can have but I don't know how. When I run 'configure', I get the
following lines pertaining to file descriptors.

checking Default FD_SETSIZE value... 256
checking Maximum number of filedescriptors we can open... 7088

How can a make Squid compile so that the Default FD_SETSIZE is larger than
256?
