Squid does not support making SSL requests yet, only accepting incoming
SSL requests.

When it does, SSL can be used both between the clients and the
accelerator, and the accelerator and the backend servers. This without
loosing caching. However, CPU usage will be quite high (double SSL on
the proxy, plus SSL on the server).

(and it would also allow Squid to run as a http->https gateway for some
clients without native SSL support such as lynx...)
