[squid-users] FTP cannot build data connection

 I cannot do FTP accesses anymore using SQUID 2.4.1

When using a ftp url ftp://.... , IE hangs and after a long time i have the
error message

200 Type set to A
200 PORT command successful
425 Can't build data connection. Connection timed out

The FTP used to work fine with SQUID. ( even without the icons !!! )
the passive_ftp option is on. there is no firewall.

when i use wget passive mode on the squid machine, it works.
when i use masquerading to do FTP with IE5, it works

only SQUID seems to block.

does anyone knows why ?
