HTTP does not have a rename operation so it is a bit tricky for a HTTP
proxy do such a thing when acting as a HTTP->FTP gateway.

HTTP does have a DELETE method, but it is not yet implemented in the
HTTP->FTP gateway of Squid. Code contributions and/or information on
clients actually capable using DELETE on FTP objects are welcome.
