Don't run as a transparent proxy. Browsers should know when they are
talking to a proxy and when not.

As Joe said you can work around the problem with transparent proxies
breaking on IE reload requests by using the ie_refresh option of
Squid-2.4, but you should not blaim IE for this issue. The bug is
transparent proxying. IE "correctly" assumes that there is no proxy if
it is not configured to use one.
