[squid-users] ./configure help needed...

Help! I'm a squid newbie, and when trying to build Squid on MacOS X
(10.0.1), I get the following message when I ./configure
--prefix=/usr/local/squid

"loading cache ./config.cache
checking host system type... configure: error: can not guess host type;
you must specify one"

What should I put here? Any guesses, please?
