It uses GMT time not the BIOS time. It just happens that on your linux
machine you have the BIOS set to GMT (most linux machines have this).

Changing that to use localtime requries patching the source. Note that
changing is not recommended because it makes debugging time-related
problems or logs harder in most cases.
