[squid-users] What is "queue congestion"?

Running Squid v2.4S1 on RedHat Linux v7.1, I ooccasionally get this message
in cache.log:

aio_queue_request: WARNING - Queue congestion

I've got the default 16 async-io threads running on a SMP i686 system.

What does this warning mean and what can I do about it?
