Hi all,

I have installed squid-2.4-200107152300 on a RH 7.1 kernel 2.4.6. The
compilation option is:

./configure --enable_gnuregex --enable-cache-digests --enable-underscores

I have raised the FD limit prior to the configure: ulimit -HSn 8192 as
well as tweak the FD_setsize in /usr/include/bits/types.h.

However I observer the following in the cache manager:

Memory usage for squid via mallinfo():
Total space in arena: 5952 KB
Ordinary blocks: 5943 KB 2 blks
Small blocks: 0 KB 0 blks
Holding blocks: 2408 KB 2 blks
        Free Small blocks: 0 KB
        Free Ordinary blocks: 8 KB
Total in use: 8351 KB 140%
                                ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
        Total free: 8 KB 0%

The box is running on PIII 733Mhz and 1GB of RAM.

Just wondering how could this happen? Squid will soon die with
'segmentation fault' error.

Kindly advise on what could be the cause of this...

Thanks a million.
