time-hack almost certainly is the problem. This has come up about five
times in the past couple of months (CPU problems), and I think every
time it's been due to the time-hack.

Maybe there should be a warning label on this option? Or it should go
away or be fixed? Is anyone using it for its intended purpose (and what
is its intended purpose, by the way)?
