* Request matches hierarchy_stoplist
* POST requests
* Reload request
* When there is no "alive" parent
* and some more

If you are talking about cahce_peer options then yes.

If you are worried that your wirusscanner may become unavailable, then
one option is to have two of them. Either both active, or one in
standby.
