[squid-users] startup and shutdown

Hi,

I have a question about squid startup and shutdown. I've written a
script so as I start squid daemon with the command
"/usr/local/squid/bin/RunCache &" and I stop it with
"/usr/local/squid/bin/squid -k shutdown", as it is described in the faq.
But even if the process is at first killed with the squid -k shutdown, it
starts again automatically due to RunCache. This doesn't happen if I start
it simply with /usr/local/squid/bin/squid and then I stop it. So what's the
correct way to start and stop squid?
