Isn't there a clickbox in the "Advanced Internet Options" of IE for
this?

Thought I saw something about new windows opening new instances or
something similar last time I browsed the options.. but I don't have a
MS machine handy to check on.. (only have one machine, and it mostly
runs Linux).
