Please help us

We have a strange phenomenon. But before telling it to you i will summarize
the basic
infos you'll need.

We are running squid cache 2.3 stable 4 on AIX 4.3.3 ML2
There is a primary proxy and in the backend 2 cache servers.

Suddenly the the primary cannot handle requests anymore and in debug level
produces messages like:

clientReadRequest FD18: (27) File too large
httpAccept: FD 15: accept failure: (27) File too large

the filesize seems not to be the criteria, because this messages
appears for any request. no matter what mime type it is.

clearing and rebuliding the cache didn't help (squid -z)

Any Ideas ?
