Hello,

have installed squid on a FreeBSD machine
vie the port collections.

It is configured to start automatically
in /usr/local/etc/rc.d/ but this failed.

When I do it manually on the command line I get
the error message below.

Seems as if squid believes that "getty" is an
already running copy of itself.

After killing this process it comes up without
complaints.

################################

root@hador> /usr/local/sbin/squid -f
/usr/local/etc/squid/squid.conf.packaging -sNY
2002/03/19 11:40:04| Squid is already running! Process ID 396

root@hador> ps ax | grep 396
  396 v0 Is+ 0:00.00 /usr/libexec/getty Pc ttyv0
################################

Any idea how to solve this?

Thanks in advance

Best regards
