You have to give to the ntlmssp helper a domain_name/domain_controller_name
argument.
NT will refuse a NetBios connection if it's with the wrong destination name.

In the future, please refrain from using HTML-formatted mail.
It makes for poor reading and it's hard to properly quote when replying.

Subject: [squid-users] regarding NTLM authentication with Squid 2.5/PRE 5
hi, squid masters

I am running Squid 2.5/PRE5 on RedHat 7.1. I configured and installed squid
for NTLM authentication
( ./configure --enable-auth=ntlm --enable-ntlm-auth-helpers=NTLMSSP ). In
my case, my domain is TEST
and PDC is 192.168.1.55. My Squid PC and PDC are on the same network
(192.168.1.X)
When I try to test connectivity with my TEST domain, by running

./ntlm_auth -d TEST/192.168.1.55 and then YR, I am getting following error :

ntlm-auth[6628] (ntlm_auth.c:180) : Adding domain-controller
TEST/192.168.1.55
ntlm-auth[6628] (ntlm_auth.c:453) :options processed OK

THEN IF I TYPE "YR"

ntlm-auth[6630] (ntlm_auth.c:277) : managing request
ntlm-auth[6630] (ntlm_auth.c:283) : ntlm authenticator. Got 'YR' from squid
ntlm-auth[6630] (ntlm_auth.c:231) : obtain_challenge: selecting
TEST/192.168.1.55 ( attempt #1 )
ntlm-auth[6630] (ntlm_auth.c:244) : attempting challenge retrieval
ntlm-auth[6630] (ntlm_auth.c:119) : Connecting to server 192.168.1.55 domain
TEST
ntlm-auth[6630] (ntlm_auth.c:126) : Couldn't connect to SMB Server.
Error:The attempt to call the remote server failed. See protocol erro info.

RFCNBE_CallRejCNMP: Call reject. Called name not present.
ntlm-auth[6630] (ntlm_auth.c:246) : make challenge returned (nil)
ntlm-auth[6630] (ntlm_auth.c:252) : Marking DC as DEAD
ntlm-auth[6630] (ntlm_auth.c:126) : Moving on to next controller

I tried to make it work for a day.. It did not work for me. What am I doing
wrong here ?

Really help appriciated... Please..

Thanks
Jigar
