 Shouldn't happen , I think.
 What SQUID version are you using ?
 On which platform ?
 Are you using internal or external DNS setup ?
 What does cache.log say about the DNS tests during SQUID startup ?
 What does cachemgr -> 'Internal DNS statistics' have to
 say during runtime.
 Look at rate increase of dns reqs/sec. Well, you'd have
 to calc. the rate kind of manually by looking at the stats for
 a second interval rate, during a certain period.
 
 The values dns lookups/secs is not present as such.
