Hi there,

I have a *very* annoying proble this morning. My Squid2.4-stable6 which
was working like a charm for weeks does not want to start anymore (it
was restarted after the log rotation last night).

Of course NOTHING has changed in my configuration ; the cache directory
has not changed either, ... I really do not understand. The error
message is :

2002/05/21 08:4May 21 08:45:08 paola squid[3160]: Squid Parent: child
process 3163 exited due to signal 25

May 21 08:45:21 paola squid[3160]: Exiting due to repeated, frequent

I just deleted the cache and reconstructed it with "squid -z" but it
does not work better. I also restarted the whole machine (Linux RedHat
7.1 - kernel 2.4.18). The port is not in use, there are file descriptors
left, no files seems to have been altered (at least the date has not
changed)...

I also tried to start it in debug mode, here is what I get :

I found a unique post about such a problem in the mailing-list archive
but with no answer. I don't think including my squid.conf here is
usefull because that file is working perfecly on my backup proxy (which
is running instead of the master machine right know).

Any help would be greatly welcome - I'm thinking about recompiling and
reinstalling Squid but since I use Linux not to do such things
(resinstall software when it does not work anymore, whithout knowing
why, this is more a Microsoft approach :) I really would like to
UNDERSTAND the problem.

PS : squid was compiled with "--enable-underscores" and
"--enable-auth-modules=SMB,NTLM"

Thanks,
