On my development system, testing awin32, I had the same problem two week
ago, see a thread on squid-dev.

But, the last week, I had a similar problem on a Solaris 2.8 x86 with aufs,
with messages in cache.log like "The resource is temporarily unavailable"
referring to disk cache objects, with the clients that cannot browse.

And Francesco Chemolli, in a mail dated 16 May 2002 about stability of
current 2.5 write:

>usage in the main thread under very moderate loads), but diskd is fine.

So, because awin32 is aufs based, I'm on doubt about some generic problems
on 2.5 aufs code.
