I believe that this is a long-standing issue. Others have had this problem with Mac
Updates so it might not be a specific interaction with windows updates.

I believe that this bug has been open for over a year now and different people see this
issue with different platforms so I don't believe that it is platform specific. On the other
hand, I believe that it works for some. Perhaps it is a tuning issue.

If it really is a configuration issue that someone has solved, perhaps we could put the
answer in the FAQ somewhere and actually close this bug.

This issue has been discussed on the list in the past.
