You do not say what version of Linux you are running. If you are running
RedHat, then you need the reiserfs-utils applicable to your distribution,
for example RedHat. Get the rpm and install it, if not already installed.

Again, let's assume RedHat. An out of the box installation will know about
the reiserfs module needed by the kernel. You can load the module manually
using insmod for testing. Use lsmod to list modules in use.

Format your filesystem using mkreiserfs. If using for first time, use
defaults. When mounting the filesystem consider mount options, noatime,
nodiratime and notails.

When configuring squid, in your config file, set cache_dir to use aufs.

As pointed out by Joe Cooper, it would be prudent for you to do some
background reading. The above info. should put you in the right direction.
