I want use such "alias" for external hosts too. I add to the /etc/hosts on
the squid host a string for santa, now i can point to that host through the
alias santana. But with squid i got same results.
On the local machine i can use such aliases, and system convert them to the
ip's. And without proxy it helps. But with proxy its dont work.
I got last stable version of Squid/2.4.STABLE6.
