Do you want to see the real load, or to generate an artificial load?

If the real load, the cache manager is your friend:

client mgr:info
client mgr:5min
client mgr:60min

And, to get a list of other options:

client mgr:menu

For benchmarking with very accurately simulated loads, you'll want
Polygraph:

Which is primarily the work Alex Rousskov, who pipes up here
occasionally, and has been known to contribute significant chunks of
code to Squid in the distant past (Cache Digests, among other things).
