Hi,

Our objective is to remove the need for the username/passwd prompt when
browsing via squid.

I understand how winbind works and it sounds exactly like what we need,
only problem is we dont run a NT domain which is sort of a good thing too
:)

We use NDS for our directory system and all of our user permissions are
controlled with NDS, I would like to be able to use winbind so the prompt
does not appear but we would need to be running a domain correct ? is there
any possible way that anyone knows how I could achive this while using NDS.

I know this is a long shot buy anything is possible right ??? :)

You will need Squid-2.5.

See the Squid FAQ entry on winbind based authentication for details on
configuration and setup.
