[squid-users] how cache works

Hi all. I have a few questions that I hope you'd be willing to answer.

When a PC (browser) connects to the cache proxy to request a page, the
cache proxy requests the date from the web server to decide wheter or
not to serve the objects in the cache. Right?

So, if there is a really bad connection, the proxy will not serve the
content until a time-out period has elapsed or until it had received the
date. Right?

It receives the date for a page, but if an image has changed on this
page, it will not be downloaded. (only in the next refresh scheduled by
the proxy).

 Am I right? Thanks.
Bye.
