I decided to let it all hang out (as we used to say in my younger hippy
days) and try the above. Seems to have fixed the problem so far. I am
now going to really stick my neck out and put 2.5STABLE1 into production
on Thursday evening using aufs. I may not have a job on Friday. :-)
