Yes, but it won't translate any links embedded in the HTML code, or
browser redirects generated by the server, so almost certainly the
browser will only stay on the anon.somesite.com domain for the first
page..

I agree that this is better done with a CGI or similar construct,
perhaps with a Squid infront for caching purposes. Note that with
Apache you can easily set up a virtual vebsite where whatever you
request is being sent to a CGI program or another handler.
