You can just delete the files in the cache directories. Squid will
complain loudly in cache.log until you find time for a restart where you
delete the swap.state files, but it should still work..
Another method is to use the PURGE script and instruct it to purge all
files.. This takes a lot longer to run but Squid won't get confused by
it.
