I have NOT modified many of the default Mozilla settings, outside of
enabling tabbed browsing, etc.  I DO have HTTP 1.1 proxy  turned on, but I
doubt that would have anything to do with it.
I just access that same site using IE 5 on Windows NT going through the
SAME proxy (Squid 2.5-STABLE1) that I use for Mozilla and got the same
results:  no errors or problems at all.
I can e-mail you (directly) screen shots of IE 5 displaying the Axis page,
if you like. :)

Do you enabled or disabled any options in Browser properties.
