There is also sites correctly using these headers to protect private
information such as bank accounts etc.

As for banners I'll second the opinion of Brett Lynn. Better to block
these from being downloaded in the first place than to severely hack the
HTTP protocol with the only purpose of trying to cache this kind of
wasteful information. Both actions are likely to make the site owners
quite upset (banner views equals to money for them), but your users will
most likely appreciate the increased speed and comfort of not having to
see banners most.
