Ok, done.

Whoa, so far it works! The number of TIMEOUT_DIRECTs has gone down to
less than 3%.

I set:
icp_query_timeout 750
maximum_icp_query_timeout 2000

> By specifying no-query you disable ICP. If ICP is not used there is no
> possibility for a timeout as there is nothing to wait for..
