No, and not even if you are doing authentication.

When you want Squid to provide SSL server services using the
https_port directive in squid.conf. Mainly of interest to people
using Squid as an accelerator for a site which should be reached via
SSL (https://)

If you only use Squid as a normal proxy then there is little or no use
of --enable-ssl.
