You need to set up the host name of your computer.... more ove this error
appears when there is no DNS service set up on your machine/no dns servers
defined in your /etc files... check the redhat control panel and manual as
to how to set up/define dns servers in your system.

I'm running Squid on Redhat Linux 9.0.

After compiling my squid when I run squid I receive this error message.
I also add visible_hostname in squid.conf but still the same message.

[xxxxxxxxxxxxx]# ./squid -z
FATAL: Could not determine fully qualified hostname. Please set
'visible_hostname'
